If you love water sports, the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers flow near Northern Virginia's borders with Maryland and West Virginia, and make for fabulous fishing, kayaking, whitewater rafting and tubing.
Just a few miles north on Harpers Ferry Road, you'll find Almost Heaven Jefferson County, WV - where the Shenandoah River was immortalized by singer John Denver. It has charming small towns steeped in American history and stunning natural resources and recreational opportunities like the world-famous Appalachian Trailand Harpers Ferry National Park.
